On May 19, 2012, a host of performers and dignitaries will take part in the 20th Anniversary Life Ball Gala at City Hall in Vienna Austria. An estimated 40,000 visitors will attend and millions will watch the live broadcast of Life Ball, Europe’s largest charity event supporting people with HIV or AIDS. This year’s speakers and performers include; President Bill Clinton, United Nations UNAIDS / Executive Director Michel Sidibé, actresses Milla Jovovich and Melanie Griffith, and poet Maya Angelou. Somewhere amidst the cracked asphalt and overgrown weeds on the
highway to nowhere is Miss Hope's, a small-town diner where wistful
wannabes with half-forgotten dreams meet, mingle and tell their
stories. Consisting of three timeless tales with more than a little
laughter, tears, irony and a pinch of The Twilight Zone, and told
against the backdrop of the presidential inaugurations of Bill
Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Miss Hope's will be open for
business starting May 23rd at the Sargent Theatre at the American
Theatre of Actors, located at 314 West 54th Street. Miss HopeÂ’s is
directed by David Triacca, and written by Jack Karp, Alisha Silver and

Korean soprano Sungji Kim and internationally renowned Meistersinger Caranza will be the headliners this coming Tuesday, May 1, at 8 PM in the recently opened Enrico Caruso Room at Little ItalyÂ’s legendary Grotta Azzurra Ristorante , located at 177 Mulberry Street on the corner of Broome Street. It was a starry Monday night at DCÂ’s Warner Theatre. Members of the local theater community came out from DC, Maryland and Virginia to celebrate the best and the brightest from last season. The evening was sprinkled with area favorites, a politician or two and even a respected film star.

The sixth and final concert series in The Palm Beach Pops’ 20th Anniversary Season, The Magic of Broadway and Disney Favorites will feature Broadway stars Lea Salonga, Tony and Drama Desk Winner, best known as the singing voice in Disney movies and for her leading roles in Miss Saigon and Les Misérables, and 2007 Helen Hayes Award winner David Burnham of Wicked. Six concerts are scheduled beginning March 29, 30 & 31 at The Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium at FAU, Boca Raton, April 1 at the Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens and April 2 & 3 at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach.
