The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced that the re-opening of the legendary and beloved landmark will kick-off with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. with the first performance of A Grand Night for Singing by Rodgers and Hammerstein to follow. UnsungMusicalsCo. Inc. (www.UnsungMusicals.org) has announced a new production of the hit 1948 musical revue Make Mine Manhattan. The limited three-week engagement will play March 1 17 at the Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street), opening night Sunday, March 4. With sketches and lyrics by Arnold B. Horwitt (Plain and Fancy, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis) and music by Emmy Award winner Richard Lewine (Cinderella, My Name is Barbara), this new production is directed by UMC artistic director Ben West (Gatsby, How Now, Dow Jones, Platinum). Jed Bernstein, President of Playhouse Productions and the Producing Director of Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced the senior leaders of his producing team. The staff which will usher in the theaters reopening this July includes: Daryl Boling (General Manager), Britt Marden (Director of Marketing), Matthew Troillett (Artistic Associate), and John Vivian (Production Manager).

Philadelphia's Bucks County Playhouse Announces Reopening!

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP), the legendary and beloved theater in New Hope, Pennsylvania, announced its official reopening at a press conference today, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Bridge Street Foundation (Kevin & Sherri Daugherty, Founders; Tanya Cooper, President), Broadway Producer Jed Bernstein, and Bucks County Playhouse Conservancy (Peggy McRae, Founder). A local landmark that has sat empty since late 2010, Bucks County Playhouse has showcased some of Broadway's most recognizable talent since it opened in 1939. Under the leadership of producing director Jed Bernstein and, most importantly, with support from the local community, the Playhouse will soon delight theater fans again. ( more...)
