Patricia Field and Dancers Responding to AIDS Choose Catskill for Their Events ARTFASHION Show

Two huge events are happening in Catskill NY in October over Columbus Day Weekend. Patricia Field, the award-winning costumer of HBO's Sex and The City (series and movies), The Devil Wears Prada movie, TV Land's current hit show Younger,and many other media projects, has chosen to bring her ARTFASHION collection to Catskill the weekend of October 6-8, 2017, as a benefit for Greene County Council on the Arts (GCCA). On the same weekend, Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, is hosting its fifth annual Hudson Valley Dance Festival at the Historic Catskill Point. The two events masterfully do not conflict with each other, making this a phenomenal opportunity for fashion, dance, and art lovers in the New York area to enjoy a blockbuster weekend in one of the most beautiful parts of the state, especially during autumn.

Fresh off her 2016 MAC Award for best original song after a successful revival of Portraits (1993) for Stephen Hanks' New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits series, Meg Flather paid tribute in Carly & Me to the 'artist who gave [her] her voice.' With her longtime musical director Paul Greenwood on piano and the versatile John Mettam on guitar and drums both singing backup, Flather performed hits and lesser-known songs alike from Carly Simon's oeuvre, along with a handful of original songs influenced by her musical heroine.
Isaac Mizrahi Opens First-of-Its-Kind Exhibition at The Jewish Museum

Acclaimed fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi is being honored by The Jewish Museum with a retrospective exploring key trends in his work; from the use of color and prints, to witty designs that touch on issues of race, religion, class, and politics. The show, entitled An Unruly History, explores key trends in Mizrahi's provocative style as designer, artist and entrepreneur which have taken him on a spirited journey in the fashion arena. Most notably, his designs often unite opposites like Western-wear infused handmade lace, Adidas sneakers in place of high heels, handbags worn as hats, or humble cotton undershirts paired with floor-length taffeta skirts. The core of the dramatic installation features 50 looks from the designer's clothing label (1987-1998), the 'semi-couture' collections (2003-2011) and his trailblazing line for Target.
