2013 Tony Awards - Who Nominates?

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 67thAnnual Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards were announced today by Tony winning-actress Sutton Foster and star of both stage and screen Jesse Tyler Ferguson, at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 24 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. Young Audiences Arts for Learning (YA) is proud to announce our culminating 60th anniversary event, the Young Audiences 60th Anniversary National Conference. The 60th Anniversary National Conference is a three-day symposium that will include peer-to-peer discussions regarding current issues and trends in arts-in-education, unrivaled professional development opportunities, and a visit to one of Young Audiences' affiliate programs in New York City, New Jersey, or Connecticut. The National Conference begins on Thursday, April 25 and concludes today, April 27, 2013 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. (more...)

Carol Lawrence hosts, with special guest performers Liliane Montevecchi (NINE, GRAND HOTEL) and Tony Sheldon (PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT). Northrop at University of Minnesota and Emily Johnson Receive Funds to Support SHORE and More

Northrop at the University of Minnesota and Emily Johnson received a $30,000 MAP Fund grant to support the incubation and development of Emily Johnson's SHORE, set to premiere at Northrop in June of 2014 and a $155,000 Doris Duke Residency to Build Demand for the Arts to support a partnership between Northrop and Johnson designed to create greater demand for contemporary dance throughout the region, particularly in Native American communities. Johnson will work in residence at the University of Minnesota's Institute for Advanced Study during 2013-14. (more...)
