Casting is complete for the world premiere of Amandine, the new musical from writer Winter Miller, 13P founding member who penned In Darfur (The Public Theater), among other acclaimed plays; Emmy Award-winning composer Lance Horne, who is known for his own work and collaborations with Alan Cumming, Amanda Palmer, Meow Meow, Sandra Bernhard and Justin Vivian Bond; and Drama Desk Award-winning director Josh Hecht (Christine Jorgensen Reveals). The production will run January 9-26, 2013 at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) main stage. Critics are welcome as of January 13 for an official opening on January 16. (more...)

Director Peter Flynn to Helm Guthrie's 50th Season Gala Performance BEHOLD, 6/22 by BWW News Desk - Dec 03, 2012
The Guthrie today announced that BEHOLD, its 50th-anniversary one-time gala performance, will be directed by New York-based Peter Flynn, whose extensive credits include directorial work on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theaters. BEHOLD, part of the Guthrie's anniversary weekend celebration, will combine classical text, music, original work, video and dance performed by artists to be announced in the months to come. Today in 1996, the first Broadway revival of Chicago opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, and it continues to run at the Ambassador Theatre. Chicago is a musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago, with music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse.
