Gotham Chamber Opera continues its 2012-2013 Season with GOTHAM @ LPR: Gotham Chamber Opera and Missy Mazzoli Conspire, a collaboration with composer Missy Mazzoli. The show will be performed on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 7:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm) at (le) poisson rouge, 158 Bleecker Street, NYC. Gotham Chamber Opera presents Daniel Catan's 1988 opera, La hija de Rappaccini (Rappaccini's Daughter), on Mondays, June 17 and 24, 2013 at 7pm at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (rain date June 25). Seating is by general admission on the lawn. Blankets and outside food will be permitted. Boxed picnic dinners will also be available for purchase. Together, playwright Christine Evans, director Joseph Megel and media designer Jared Mezzocchi have formed Transit Lounge, and You Are Dead. You Are Here. marks the company's debut production. Coming up in its 2012-2013 producing Season, HERE proudly presents A Marriage: 1 (Suburbia), created and performed by HERE Resident Artists Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin. This premiere marks the culmination of a residency in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). A Marriage: 1 (Suburbia) takes over HERE (145 Sixth Avenue) from April 23 - May 4, as this immersive interdisciplinary installation fills every space within the building. (more...)

The New York Philharmonic will present A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky, a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of the ballets The Fairy's Kiss and Petrushka, created by Giants Are Small. Carolina Performing Arts at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill) presents The Rite of Spring at 100 (Rite 100), an unprecedented nine-month festival which began in September 2012 and continues through May 2013. Spring season performances include three world premieres commissioned for Rite 100 including new works from Vijay Iyer, Basil Twist and Nacho Duato; a U.S. premiere from Nederlands Dans Theater 1; and a rare chance to see Martha Graham's groundbreaking version of The Rite of Spring.
