The Broadway production of EVITA opens tonight at the Marquis Theatre. The company of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's landmark musical is led by world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger in her Broadway debut as Eva Perón and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón, along with Max von Essen as Migaldi, Rachel Potter as the Mistress, and Christina DeCicco as the alternate/standby for Eva Perón. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Michael Grandage and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford, EVITA begins previews on March 12 and Opening Night is set for April 5, 2012. Joining the previously announced stars of EVITA - world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger in her Broadway debut as Eva Perón and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón - are Max von Essen as Magaldi, Rachel Potter as the Mistress, and Christina DeCicco as the alternate/standby for Eva Perón.

Christina DeCicco Signs on as 'Eva' Alternate in EVITA

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary seven-time Tony Award-winning musical, EVITA, will feature Christina DeCicco (Glinda in Wicked, Sister Act) as the 'Eva Peron' alternate when the show opens this Spring n Broadway. DeCicco will play 'Eva' on Wednesday evening and Saturday matinee performances- with the exception of Wed. March 14 and Wed. April 4, when Elena Roger will play both matinee and evening performances. Producers Hal Luftig and Scott Sanders have announced additional casting and the creative team for the new production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's landmark musical EVITA, opening April 5, 2012 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). Previews begin Monday, March 12, 2012. Joining the previously announced stars of EVITA - world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger in her Broadway debut as Eva Peron and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Peron - are Max Von Essen as Magaldi, Rachel Potter as the Mistress, and Christina DeCicco as the alternate/standby for Eva Peron.
