The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, a production of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, is set to fulfill its mission of connecting the community to the arts this summer, June 7 - 16, 2013, in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 10-day Festival is free and open to the public and presents high-quality and diverse visual and performing art attractions sprawling from the newly renovated Point State Park at the confluence of the city's famed three rivers, through picturesque Gateway Center, and into Pittsburgh's world-renowned 14-block Cultural District. Do Not Go Gentle Productions, in collaboration with New York City College of Technology (City Tech) Theatreworks, presents a revival of Dylan, Sidney Michaels' 1964 play focusing on the final years of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas' life. Directed by newly appointed Naked Angels Artistic Director Liz Carlson, Dylan performances are tonight, April 29 through May 11 at 7:30pm, in a limited engagement at the New York City College of Technology's Voorhees Theatre, located at 186 Jay Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Theater critics worldwide have praised Bill W. and Dr. Bob, Samuel Shem and Janet Surrey's play about the founding of AA, as an expertly told, universally compelling story about the triumph of the human spirit. The show continues to break box office records and brings a whole new community into the theater-the broad diversity of people in recovery, and their families and friends. After being mounted more than 100 times in 35 states as well as Australia, Canada and England, the play comes to New York City's 199-seat Soho Playhouse (200 Vandam Street), beginning July 8, in a new production directed by Seth Gordon (Associate Artistic Director, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis; Producer/Director Primary Stages, NYC; director of the acclaimed production of Bill W. and Dr. Bob at the Cleveland Play House in 2010). From 1964-68, Famed photographer Ansel Adams spent time at the University of California on a groundbreaking photographic project commissioned by UC President Clark Kerr. At its core the project, entitled Fiat Lux (Let There Be Light, the University of California motto) asked Adams to answer the question "How can we imagine our future?" Over the course of the project, Adams took thousands of photos of the entire UC system, culminating in a published book written by Nancy Newhall in 1967, which was revisited in a full-year, campuswide multimedia exploration of Adams' work this year called On the Same Page. Planned to coincide with the Art Institute's major exhibition Picasso and Chicago, this presentation from the Department of Prints and Drawings is inspired by the modern master's love of poetry-Picasso was close friends with poets, including Max Jacob, Guillaume Apollinaire, Andre Breton, and Paul Eluard, and collaborated with them from his earliest days in Paris. Taking Picasso's passion as a jumping-off point, this collection of works on paper surveys the myriad ways visual artists have been inspired by or collaborated with poets in the 20th century. Production on ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE Resumes Today by TV News Desk - Feb 25, 2013
The Online Network previously announced that production will commence on the highly-anticipated revivals of the beloved long-running serial dramas 'All My Children,' and 'One Life to Live,' beginning today, February 25.
