On Tues. 9/13, stars came together at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre in Pasadena to present CONCERT FOR VICTOR: A BENEFIT. All proceeds from the concert go to 23-year-old Victor Rodriguez and his family. In June 2011, Sacramento newlyweds Victor and Crystal Rodriguez went parasailing on the last day of their honeymoon in the Bahamas. At a height of approximately 200 feet their harness snapped, and they fell into the ocean. Crystal was killed, and Victor suffered severe injuries. Neither of them had health or life insurance. They had only been married 12 days. (more...)

The Pasadena Playhouse has announced that full casting is complete for the west coast premiere of the new musical TWIST - An American Musical by William F. Brown and Tina Tippit (book), Tena Clark (lyrics and music) and Gary Prim (music). Golden Globe and multi-Emmy Award-winner Debbie Allen directs a cast of 31 performers led by Tamyra Gray ('American Idol,' Rent and Bombay Dreams) and Cleavant Derricks (Tony Award-winner, Dreamgirls). The five-week limited engagement performs June 14 - July 17, 2011 with the official press opening on June 26, 2011 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue). (more...)

Hilty, Eagan, et al. Celebrate 3rd Anniversary of 88's Cabaret, 5/24

Tonight, Monday, May 24th at 8pm, 88's Cabaret is very excited to celebrate its 3rd Anniversary with performances honoring the last three years. The event will be held at La Boheme's sister restaurant Gonpachi in Beverly Hills. Gonpachi will feature a special menu for 88's with something for everyone (and not at Beverly Hills prices!). Appetizers will start at just $3. The cost is $15 to be seated with dinner (with dinner reservation) and $10 for standing room only, with a cash cover at the door. Cover prices have been lowered as a thanks to all patrons over the past three years. There will be a big announcement at the show that 88's is very excited about.
