ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN Begins at Milwaukee Rep Tonight by BWW News Desk - May 03, 2013
With a voice like whiskey and a laugh like pure joy, Janis Joplin took the music scene by storm. Simultaneously rough and vulnerable, Joplin was dubbed the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, proving music wasn't just a man's world anymore. Now, in a new musical event featuring more than a dozen singers and band members, playwright-director Randy Johnson creates 'a compelling portrait of an artist' (Culturemob) through the words, inspiration and music of one of America's greatest rock 'n' roll originals. One Night With Janis Joplin is a full-on concert experience and musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends and it runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from tonight, May 3 - June 2, 2013 and opens on Monday, May 6, 2013. Tickets On Sale Now for CPCC Summer Theatre Season by BWW News Desk - May 02, 2013
Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Summer Theatre announces individual tickets are now on sale for its 40th anniversary season. This year, the troupe is bringing an incredible lineup of quality shows at prices the entire family can enjoy. Tickets are available for $18 and $22, with tickets for children under the age of 14 available for $10 and just $7 for the children's show. In addition, parking is free for all shows. (more...)

Iconic entertainer and humanitarian Danny Kaye was honored as his namesake sandwich joined the menu of the famed NYC staple in his Centennial year. On Monday, April 29th, Dena Kaye, Danny's only daughter with his wife and collaborator Sylvia Fine Kaye, joined the staff of the Carnegie Deli for a sandwich cutting ceremony, officially inducting the Danny Kaye Deli Club sandwich onto the menu for all to enjoy. BWW Reviews: Theatre Harrisburg's WAIT UNTIL DARK at the Krevsky Center by Marakay Rogers - Mar 18, 2013
Although the first act feels just a bit slow in its development, and one or two of the cast take a few moments to warm into their roles as one watches, it is certainly not unsatisfactory. But it is the second act of WAIT UNTIL DARK that is what the audience is there for, especially for the ending. And the second act does not disappoint. (more...)
