The Public Postpones PIRATES OF PENZANCE Benefit Until Tomorrow

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that due to inclement weather, The Public Theater Gala performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE will now happen on the rain date, Tuesday, June 11 at 8:00 p.m. at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. A stand-by line for tomorrow's concert performance will start forming at 6:00 p.m. with any available tickets given out just prior to curtain. (more...)

DTC Announces FLY BY NIGHT Cast, Featuring Whitney Bashor

Dallas Theater Center announced today the complete cast and creative team for the new rock musical, Fly By Night, directed by Bill Fennelly. This often funny and sometimes deeply moving tale follows a group of New Yorkers during the 1965 blackout. Will Connolly, Michael Mitnick and Kim Rosenstock's vivid characters question the direction of their lives, try to make their dreams come true and fall in love all to the tune of fresh, catchy and original songs. Fly By Night opens with previews on Friday, April 26 and runs through Sunday, May 26 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Asa Somers' original rock musical, Something as Big as This, will receive a January 2013 developmental workshop at Seattle's award-winning Balagan Theatre, a follow up to the recent NYC workshop starring Brian d'Arcy James and Emma Hunton. Tracing his Broadway trajectory from his memorable debut in FOOTLOOSE back in the late 1990s to his impressive regional theatre and concert work - CHESS to The Dream Engine to BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY and beyond - to his success touring in AIDA, RENT and others, up to his most recent gig in JERSEY BOYS, Kushnier opens up about his diverse career thus far and what we can expect from him in the future, near and far.
