Joffrey Welcomes Four New Dancers From South Korea, Spain and the U.S.

The Joffrey Ballet's Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director and Greg Cameron, President and CEO are pleased to announce the addition of four dancers to the Joffrey roster for the 2021-22 season: Brian Bennett (Lanham, Maryland), Blake Kessler (Jacksonville, Florida), Yuchan Kim (Seoul, South Korea) and Miranda Silveira (Barcelona, Spain). With these new company members, The Joffrey Ballet has expanded to 43 dancers representing 13 countries.

Following its premiere at DanceEast for Christmas 2018 and 2019 tour, including a Christmas run at The Place in London, the show returns with the theatre tour and also a new adapted version especially made for for rural areas and smaller venues. Audiences will be invited to join the Little Prince as he journeys through a weird and wonderful universe, meeting fascinating characters along the way whilst learning about the value of friendship and love.

Arthur Pita's 'The Little Match Girl' returns to Sadler's Wells Lilian Baylis Studio from 11 - 29 December 2019, 'The Little Match Girl' is based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and involves a poor little match girl who is cast aside by her cruel neighbours on Christmas Eve. It is performed in Italian, incorporates ballet and opera and even a ghostly journey to the moon. It could have been obscure but instead is funny, emotive and effortlessly moving.

Award-winning Director and Choreographer Arthur Pita presents the world premiere of TEN SORRY TALES, a dance theatre production based on Mick Jackson's book of short stories. A new commission by DanceEast and Sadler's Wells, produced by Pita's newly renamed company Ballo Arthur Pita, TEN SORRY TALES presents a collection of modern-day fables told through dance, theatre, live music and song. Opening at Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich on Friday 13 December, the production runs for 8 performances until Tuesday 17 December 2019.
