Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Suicide Club. Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Suicide Club" and featuring beloved characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jeffrey Hatcher (Mrs. Mannerly, 2010) crafts a smart new Sherlock Holmes mystery. Having played Sherlock Holmes in The Crucifer of Blood (2009) and Sherlock Holmes (2003), Alley Theatre Company Artist Todd Waite will again play the iconic and illustrious detective in a spectacular, lavish production. The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company has exciting shows lined up for its thirty-third season. It includes the usual world premiere ('The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'), a New Jersey premiere ('Lost on the Natchez Trace'), a comedy by a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright ('The Late Christopher Bean'), an American detective joins Holmes in our popular radio-style productions ('Holmes and Carter Mysteries') and our enchanting storytelling holiday show ('Christmas with Harte and O. Henry.') Special events include our standing-room-only Student Workshop Production and A Sunday Film Series that includes incredible silent features with live organ accompaniment. Park Square closes its season June 2013 with the beguiling thriller SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE SUICIDE CLUB, a new script by Jeffrey Hatcher. A fast-paced mash-up of the unforgettable characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and 'The Suicide Club' by Robert Louis Stevenson, this script has its roots in Park Square's last wildly popular homage to the great sleuth, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily (2010). "David Ira Goldstein (Artistic Director of the Arizona Theatre Company, former Artistic Director of Actor's Theatre of Saint Paul) and Jeff Hatcher were in the audience at that show," explains Park Square Artistic Director Richard Cook. "Jeff boasted he could write an even better Sherlock and David Ira said 'then I'll commission it.'" David Mann directs and Steve Hendrickson returns once again as the absurdly smart Holmes, this time in a thriller with multiple murders in which Holmes is either target or suspect. (more...)

Sherlock Holmes is speaking to his loyal friend Dr. Watson. They are trying desperately to prove that a young lawyer did not commit murder, while Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard is convinced of it.
Step back in time, on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at 8:00p.m., when ELTC presents Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Norwood Builder' in the style of a radio broadcast, complete with live sound effects and commercials. The Douglas Morrisson Theatre opens its 2013-14 Season of Mystery & Romance with a bang in February with 'Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure' by Steven Dietz. The play, based on the original 1899 script by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle, won the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play. Directed by Kendall Tieck, the play features an ensemble of Bay Area performers including Craig Dickerson as Sherlock Homes, Scott G. Hartman as Dr. Watson, Steve Schwartz as Moriarty, J.
