Lookingglass Theatre Company announces its 2013-2014 Season, opening with the World Premiere adaptation of Marguerite Duras' The North China Lover, written & directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. The season continues with The Little Prince directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, adapted from Antoine De Saint-Exupery's beloved children's book by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar. Nick Lloyd Webber, son of Andrew Lloyd Webber, will see his musical adaptation of THE LITTLE PRINCE run from December 1 through January 15 at the Lyric Belfast. Directed by Richard Croxford, the production is co-written by James D. Reid. On the upcoming opening, Lloyd Webber commented that he is: "Very nervous. In terms of the pressure, I'm very aware there's going to be some... attention, but I'd just like to think that the show will be judged on its own merits. That's all anyone can ask for." (more...)

Utah's Pioneer Theatre Awarded NEA Grant by BWW News Desk - Nov 18, 2011
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Rocco Landesman today announced that the agency will award 863 grants to organizations and individual writers across the country. Pioneer Theatre Company is one of the grantees and will receive $10,000 to support developmental workshops of two commissioned shows under the auspices of its New Plays Initiative. The 863 grant awards total $22.543 million, encompass 15 artistic disciplines and fields, and support projects in 47 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. (more...)

According to whatsonstage.com, Andrew Lloyd Webber's son, Nick Lloyd Webber, has recently completed writing a new, high-scale musical entitled THE LITTLE PRINCE. Based on the classic French book, THE LITTLE PRINCE will be an English interpretation of the well-known story.
