BWW Reviews: ASPECTS OF LOVE Moving, Problematic and Worthy in Theo Ubique's Gutsy Production by Paul W. Thompson - Mar 12, 2013
Playing now through April 21, 2013 at the No Exit Cafe in Rogers Park, and officially opening yesterday, the rarely seen Andrew Lloyd Webber musical 'Aspects of Love' has been very competently mounted by the consistently high-quality storefront non-Equity company, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre. And this 1989 London show, receiving what I believe is the Chicago premiere of the revised version first mounted in the UK in 1993-4, has been clearly intended by the company to be a follow-up to its phenomenally successful, multi-Jeff Award winning, multi-BroadwayWorld Award winning 2012 production of 'A Light in the Piazza,' a show with a similar post-war, stylish Continental setting and the seduction of romantic melodies in the air--not much dialogue or dance needed. The Media Theatre held a fundraising Season Preview Event in Rose Valley Saturday September 22. The evening featured the premier unveiling of the professional music theatre's new Cunningham baby grand piano. Resident music director Tom Fosnocht christened the piano as the supreme vocals of Broadway's Tony nominated actress Ann Crumb filled the main room of the home of Lee and Carol Thaler Roberts. Dan Schiff, Ann Crumb Lead Media Theatre's WINGS by BWW News Desk - Jan 28, 2012
Philadelphia actor Dan Schiff, recently seen on The Media Theatre stage as Max in The Sound of Music, returns to Delaware County's only professional music theatre in the musical Wings. He plays two roles in the Jeffrey Lunden adaptation of Arthur Kopit's play about an aviatrix who suffers a stroke and must rediscover her inner spirit through rehabilitation.
