Stephen Schwartz to Appear at National Symphony's THE WIZARD AND I, Now thru 5/18 by BWW News Desk - May 16, 2013
The National Symphony Orchestra Pops will present three performances of The Wizard and I: The Musical Journey of Stephen Schwartz May 16-18 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the performances feature performances by Jeremy Jordan, Norm Lewis, Julia Murney, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and The Washington Chorus. The performances celebrate Stephen Schwartz's 65th birthday as well as the 10th anniversary of the perennially 'popular' Wicked, and Mr. Schwartz will make a special appearance in each of the three programs, performing and sharing stories of the creation of Wicked. San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Announces Added Performance of 'Harvey Milk 2013,' Featuring New Work from Andrew Lippa by BWW News Desk - May 07, 2013
Due to overwhelming demand, the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) announced today an added performance of their 35th anniversary celebration concert Harvey Milk 2013. Harvey Milk 2013will feature the world premiere of I Am Harvey Milk, a new choral work, with music and words by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa, at The Nourse Theatre (201-299 Hayes Street, San Francisco). The added performance will be on Wednesday, June 26 at 8 p.m.. The production, which coincides with the 35th anniversary of Harvey Milk's assassination, was originally scheduled to run for two nights only - Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28. The opening night gala will take place on Thursday, June 27. Tickets for all performances of Harvey Milk 2013 are available now, online at SFGMC.org or through City Box Office at (415) 392-4400.
