On Friday, June 9th, 2017, 5-7pm — a Special Book Event for “CREATE! How Extraordinary People Live To Create and Create To Live” — a new book by best-selling author, Ronald Rand — will be held at The Drama Book Shop, 250 West 40 Street in New York City. 

Just last night, Lincoln Center Theater held its annual benefit celebrating Andre Bishop (Producing Artistic Director) and his 25 Years at LCT.

Michele Selene Ang, Enid Graham, Lizbeth MacKay, Crystal Lucas-Perry, and Ruibo Qian star in the LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of Bull in a China Shop, a new play by Bryna Turner, directed by Lee Sunday Evans. Bull in a China Shop opened last night, March 1, running for six weeks only through Sunday, March 26 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). The annual KLEBAN PRIZE FOR MUSICAL THEATRE presentation took place just yesterday, February 6 at ASCAP.  Some of Broadway's legendary musical theatre creators and young-up-and-comers will come out to honor the two prize winners, perform some of their material, and present their prizes at a food and drink reception hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

In its ongoing effort to open its doors to the next generation of writers, Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has announced the creation of the LCT New Writers in Residence program.

The new Broadway production of William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos, featuring Stephanie J. Block, Christian Borle, Andrew Rannells, Anthony Rosenthal, Tracie Thoms, Brandon Uranowitz, and Betsy Wolfe, begins previews Thursday, September 29 and opens Thursday, October 27.

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. Signature Theatre's Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Paige Evans as Artistic Director beginning July 1, 2016. She succeeds Founding Artistic Director James Houghton, who will step down at the end of June. Ms. Evans comes to Signature Theatre from Lincoln Center Theater, where she has served as Artistic Director of LCT3 since its inception in 2008. 

Kill Floor, a new play by Abe Koogler, opened Monday, October 19th. In this powerful world premiere drama, Andy (Marin Ireland, Reasons To Be Pretty) returns to her hometown after three years in prison and takes a job at the local slaughterhouse, determined to get her life on track. But when her estranged teenaged son objects to her working on the Kill Floor, their relationship slips even farther from her reach.

Now in its ninth year, the Yale Drama Series Prize is given out annually for a play by an emerging playwright, selected by a judging panel of one - a preeminent playwright of our time.  The winner receives the David Charles Horn Prize of $10,000, as well as publication of the winning play by Yale University Press and a staged reading at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater.  The Yale Drama Series is an annual international open submission competition for emerging playwrights who are invited to submit original, unpublished, full-length, English language plays for consideration.  Seyda's play was selected from 1,478 entries from 47 countries.
