Artists Striving to End Poverty is celebrating its Eleventh Annual New York City Christmas: A Concert to Benefit ASTEP, taking place on Monday, December 9 at 7:00 PM at Joe's Pub at The Public in New York City. Ghostlist Records has announced it will record the new musical Soft Power, the New York premiere production from The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham), for an original cast album to be released Spring 2020. Soft Power features play and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang and music and additional lyrics by Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori, with choreography by Tony nominee Sam Pinkleton. A co-commission and co-production with Center Theatre Group, Tony nominee Leigh Silverman directed this groundbreaking new musical-within-a-play.

Conrad Ricamora who plays Oliver in the ABC Series “How To Get Away With Murder” has been jetting back and forth across the country filming the final season of the show and also starring in the new musical “Soft Power” written by David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori at the Public Theatre in NY.  Over the weekend, an old friend, George Takei stopped by to see the show and congratulate him backstage along with Playwright David Henry Hwang and the cast.
