The Grand Theater and Salt Lake Film Society present a free screening of the film “The Crucible”, Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 1575 South State Street. This 1996 film, starring Winona Ryder as Abigail Williams, Daniel Day-Lewis as John Proctor, and Joan Allen as Elizabeth Proctor is set in 17th century Salem, Massachusetts. Adapted from the Arthur Miller classic play of the same name, “The Crucible” tells the story of a spurned young woman who accuses an ex-lover's wife of witchery. Joan Allen Won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in this film. (more...)

So You Think You Can Dance is down to the 8 finalists, determined this week after Noelle Marsh and Nathan Trasoras were eliminated on Tuesday night. This week's results show also featured performances by Snoop Dogg with Quest Crew, who debuted his new single, "I Wanna Rock," as well as by LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers). (more...)

WhatsOnStage.com is reporting that the hit Broadway revival of HAIR is eyeing a West End transfer. The site indicates the show is hoping for a run at either the Piccadilly or Cambridge Theatre. (more...)

Variety reports that the Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR has announced has recouped its investment cost of $5.76 million. The production recouped in less than six months, after opening on Broadway March 31. HAIR began preview performances March 6, 2009. (more...)
