Musicals Tonight! continues its ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys and Understudies with its next editions of At This Performance... to be held on Monday, March 9th at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, 2162 Broadway, (above the Promenade Theatre- Broadway at 76th Street), 3rd Floor at 8 PM.

The New York Post's Michael Riedel is reporting in his 'On Broadway' column this morning that the mother and daughter team of Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson had such a wonderful time performing in the Roundabout gala benefit reading of Stephen Sondheim's 'A Little Night Music' last month that they're up for a full-fledged revival on Broadway next year.

After an amazing run from Off-Broadway sleeper to Tony Award winning Best Musical Spring Awakening ended its run on Broadway last night, Sunday, January 18, following the 7pm performance. After the cast gave the final bows, it was time to celebrate the music, memories and magic that was Spring Awakening. Current cast members, show alumni and the creative team headed to Bond 45 on 45th St. to get the bittersweet yet joyous festivites started and 'not do sadness', BroadwayWorld tagged along to join in the emotional closing night party. When Spring Awakening closed, it had played 859 performances and 29 previews. Its eight 2007 Tony? Awards, including Best Musical, made Spring Awakening one of the biggest Tony winners in the past decade. In addition to the Tony Award wins, Spring Awakening won four Drama Desk Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the NY Drama Critics Award for Best Musical, the Drama League award for Distinguished Production of a Musical, and the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, among other notable citations.

Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Spring Awakening, the first musical to be presented by the Atlantic Theater Company, opened June 15th 2006 for a limited run through July 9th at the Atlantic Theater Company (336 West 20th Street). Jill Paice will replace the previously announced Laura Benanti in the role of Anne Egerman in the Roundabout Theatre Company's gala benefit concert reading of A Little Night Music. Laura Benanti, has withdrawn under a doctor's orders because of a serious throat infection. Benanti is currently starring as Louise/Gypsy in the revival of Gypsy. She is expected to continue to perform in her Tony winning role in Gypsy which closes on Sunday January 11th, but the added rehearsals and peformance of 'Night Music' was considered too much in regards to her throat ailment.
