GKIDS, a distributor of award-winning animation for both adult and family audiences, announced today the English-language voice cast for their upcoming release of Studio Ghibli's FROM UP ON POPPY HILL. The March 2013 release will star Gillian Anderson, Sarah Bolger, Beau Bridges, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bruce Dern, Jeff Dunham, Isabelle Fuhrman, Christina Hendricks, Ron Howard, Chris Noth, Emily Osment, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Saxton, Alex Wolff and Anton Yelchin. Polly Draper Talks MY BRILLIANT DIVORCE at Bay Street Theatre

This summer, Bay Street Theatre had the pleasure to open its 2012 Mainstage season with Polly Draper starring in My Brilliant Divorce by Geraldine Aron. Audiences may remember Draper from her hit show "thirtysomething" which ran in the late 1980s into the early 1990s. Since her stint as Ellen on the groundbreaking show for which she received an Emmy nomination, Draper has maintained a busy life in the entertainment world. (more...)

Robin de Jesus is Aladdin & John Tartaglia the Genie in MUNY's ALADDIN! Full Cast Announced

The Muny announced today principal casting for the third show of its 94th season, Disney's Aladdin (July 5-13), directed by Gary Griffin, and choreographed by Alex Sanchez.
Tony® Nominees Robin de Jesus and John Tartaglia star as Aladdin and the Genie, respectively. Joining them will be Jason Graae as Omar, Curtis Holbrook as Iago, Francis Jue as Kassim, Eddie Korbich as Babkak, Samantha Massell as Jasmine, Ken Page as the Sultan, and Thom Sesma as Jafar.

Yesterday, March 7, The 24 Hour Company teamed with the Exchange to produce The 24 Hour Musicals at The Gramercy Theatre. Four brand new musicals were written, cast, rehearsed and performed in a single day, featuring an star-studded line up of Broadway performers, composers, writers, directors, choreographers and musical directors. Creative director Ted Sperling (musical director of Light in the Piazza, South Pacific and Guys & Dolls), led some of the theatre's brightest talent from Broadway, film and television as they collaborated under one roof, in one day, to create original musical theatre.
