Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced the two world premiere plays which will be presented as part of the company's tenth annual Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series this summer: Alena Smtih's The Bad Guys, and Kenneth Lin's Warrior Class, directed by Evan Cabnet.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast Premiere of John Morogiello's comedy Engaging Shaw. Directed by Henry Wishcamper, Engaging Shaw will run July 29 - Sept. 4 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of The Old Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 29 - Aug. 3. Dusk Rings a Bell, written by Stephen Belber will be performed at Atlantic Stage 2 as Atlantic Theater Company's final production of the season. The play will be directed by Sam Gold and will run May 19-June 20. Performances take place Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 PM.

New York's Summer Play Festival (SPF) is partnering with Germany's Theatre Bielefeld for the second year as part of the Voices of Change Festival in Bielefeld, Germany from April 22 - 25, 2010. This year's selected playwright is Alena Smith, whose play The Sacrifices (SPF 2009) will be translated into German, and receive a workshop production as part of the Festival.
