REDSHIFT, SUITE CAMUS, AMONGST MILLIONS and More Set for 2013 BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL, 7/22-28 by BWW News Desk - May 30, 2013
With highlights including the world premiere of Greek playwright Yiannis Mavritsakis' 'Redshift,' the multimedia/ music production 'Suite Camus' collaborated on by artists from France, Germany and Algeria, the North American premiere of 'Eyes' by Israeli based The Arab-Hebrew Theater Center, Portuguese choreographer's Pedro Goucha Gomes' 'Amongst Millions' - a new dance that tackles the current European crisis and many more - the BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL, an annual celebration of contemporary performing arts from the Mediterranean, will be held from July 22nd through July 28th at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street, New York, NY), it has been announced by Aktina Stathaki, Artistic and Producing Director of the festival. The Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival Begins 6/14 by BWW News Desk - May 15, 2013
The Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival, now in its 16th year, brings the Denver Center Theatre Company, Primary Stages (New York), and South Coast Repertory (California) to develop new pieces of theatre in the Rocky Mountains. Presented under the artistic direction of Andrew Leynse, (Artistic Director, Primary Stages), and with sponsorship from The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust, the New Works Festival continues Perry-Mansfield's founding principle of nurturing new talent with new work. La Clique, THE GRADUATE, Meadowlands and More Set for Brighton Fringe 2013, Now thru June 2 by BWW News Desk - May 04, 2013
Brighton Fringe has launched its 2013 programme online, offering a huge variety of 685 shows (and counting) with 3275 performances and 210 premieres in 178 venues with 38 international acts and 220 home-grown Brighton shows which makes it the richest and largest yet. Not only this but this year England's biggest arts festival lasts longer, running an extra week from tonight, 4 May to 2 June to incorporate both spring bank holidays and half term. (more...)

Not only this but this year England's biggest arts festival lasts longer, running an extra week from 4 May to 2 June to incorporate both spring bank holidays and half term. During that time every conceivable space in the South Coast city is transformed into a place of creative celebration. Throughout the merry month of May, Brighton positively buzzes with activity. From theatre to dance, comedy to music, visual art to literary events, high flying installations, dance and circus, there is something for everyone throughout the day and long into the spring evenings for what is always a highlight in the UK's arts calendar. And true to Brighton's slightly rebellious nature there will be plenty of surprises that could only happen in Britain's favourite seaside city. (more...)

FUNDarte's Out in the Tropics brings award-winning contemporary LBGTQ artists and arts events to South Florida annually. In its third year, the Festival presents Teatro El Publico's staging of Caligula from Havana, Cuba on June 14-16, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. at the Colony Theater, in Miami Beach.
In this production (never before seen in the U.S.), the tyrannical Caligula is given a contemporary face, armed with a 'mask of gayness' and 'the glamour of illustrious uniforms,' inciting audiences to witness other forms of misconduct beyond the sexual. (more...)
