Sister Act at White Plains Performing Arts Center literally blew the roof off the City Center and did not let go!

The South Bend Civic Theatre is pleased to announce its exciting 2017 Season, celebrating their 60th anniversary and 10th year in their new home.

The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey is presenting a marvelous, full-scale production of 'A Christmas Carol: The Musical' through December 18th. It is an elaborate theatrical event that will be enjoyed by everyone, young and old alike.

Any time you hear the word 'Disney,' you know you can expect something magical about to happen. Oh yes, it is happening now at the Baldwin Theatre in Royal Oak, where DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID musical is now on stage. This show is spectacular, with brilliant costumes, lively music, and a tale of relatable family dynamics. Stagecrafters never fails to deliver a first-class performance; this show will rock your soul and warm your heart.

Summer is on its way out, but Connecticut theaters are heating up with some exciting offerings this fall. Theater lovers have the best of both worlds here in the Nutmeg State: Broadway is just down the road, but we never even have to leave home to see exceptional theater thanks to the bevy of professional theaters that call Connecticut home too. This season looks particularly exciting and I'll share with you what I am most looking forward to reviewing this fall. There are other great shows scheduled this fall as well as through the 2016 season, but in the interest of space, I will concentrate on top picks for this fall.

It often seems today that life is fraught with apathy and complacency and Newsies becomes a great conversation starter for young and old alike. This musical essentially becomes what the original newsboys strike of 1899 was: a call to action.

Last week, I spoke with Jacob Kemp, the young actor currently starring in the national tour of Disney's NEWSIES. In addition to the tour, Jacob has been featured in a recurring role on an ABC sitcom, and he admits that he's had a very exciting and successful year. From his hotel in Los Angeles, where NEWSIES was on tour at the time, Jacob dished about his life on the road, the exciting oppertunities he's found, and the joy of working with the famous creators of his current show.

Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman returned last night to host THE 68TH ANNUAL TONY® AWARDS, broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on the CBS Television Network. The touring production of DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will play at Wolf Trap's Filene Center for five performances between Friday, June 6th and Sunday, June 8th. The family-friendly, live-action musical includes all the songs from the Broadway production and spectacular sets and costumes.

On Tuesday night, Sister Act: The Musical opened at Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. Based on the 1992 movie of the same name, the musical has music by Alan Menkin and lyrics by Glen Slater. If you are a fan of the movie, you'll see many of your favorite moments, along with a few new things to keep you interested. If you don't know the movie, you'll meet a lively cast of characters and get a story full of laughs.

Following their critically acclaimed inaugural and sold out production of Spring Awakening in April this year, Assembled Junk Productions have announced the cast for their forthcoming three week professional fringe production of Alan Menkin and Howard Ashman's cult classic musical Little Shop of Horrors, running today 3rd - Sunday 22nd of December 2013, with press night slated for Thursday 5th December at 7:00pm.

Following their critically acclaimed inaugural and sold out production of Spring Awakening in April this year, Assembled Junk Productions have announced the cast for their forthcoming three week professional fringe production of Alan Menkin and Howard Ashman's cult classic musical Little Shop of Horrors, running Tuesday 3rd - Sunday 22nd of December 2013, with press night slated for Thursday 5th December at 7:00pm.

The production will be running Tuesday 3rd - Sunday 22nd of December 2013, with press night set for 5th December at 7 p.m.

After a sold-out run last year at the Duplex, this unique cabaret act written and performed by Brett Lowell with his 84-year old father is returning to NYC at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Joining the creative team is director Michael Schiralli (Jackie Hoffman's A Chanukah Charol at New World Stages).

The next chapter in my journey with the cast of Creative Ministries Performing Art Center's (CMPAC) A Christmas Carol, The Musical continues with their first sit-down reading. It was more of a fun information/getting to know you session.

Three-time Academy Award nominee Diane Ladd (Drama Desk Award nomination) brings Donald Margulies' critically acclaimed Collected Stories (Pulitzer Prize finalist, Ovation Award winner) to the Odyssey Theatre for a limited run. Collected Stories had an extended sold-out run at Manhattan Theatre Club in New York.
