Brevard Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Music Director & Principal Conductor Christopher Confessore leads the BSO for the third subscription concert of the 2013-2014 season, Into the Spotlight, on Saturday, January 18, 2014, for two performances at 2:00pm and 8:00pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts. To begin the program, Maestro Confessore leads the BSO with Copland's wonderful and poignant Quiet City, followed by Mozart's charming Sinfonia Concertante. Beethoven's forward-looking and majestically-optimistic Symphony No. 2 closes the program. This concert will highlight the talents of BSO musicians: Concertmaster Lisa Ferrigno, Anita Juilianna (English horn), Tom Macklin (Principal Trumpet), Ken Martinson (Principal Viola).

The New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts (VYPCs), for children ages 3 to 6, continue Sunday, January 5, 2014, at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. and Monday, January 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street.

Ensemble 212 presents Sonorous Strings: Orchestra Concert, the second show of its 2013-14 season tonight, November 13th at 8pm. Representative of a true kaleidoscope of styles, the evening will feature music of the Baroque and Romantic eras as well as that of the 20th and 21st centuries.

As part of its In the Salon series, Symphony Space presents the acclaimed Cassatt String Quartet in a program of American-themed pieces, Friday, November 22 at 7:30 pm in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia. Kennedy, is a musical exploration of the evolving notion of 'the American Dream,' with Antonin Dvorak's String Quartet No. 12, 'American' (1893) the oldest work on the program.

Spend a memorable weekend at Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival. The weekend begins with the Galvanized Jazz Band tonight, August 17 (6:30PM) followed by The Dover String Quartet with acclaimed violist, Roberto Diaz performing Haydn, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn on Sunday, August 18 (3PM). This summer has been one that has featured rarely performed works plus premieres; and this weekend is no exception, with special moments and rare guest artists. The 84th season of chamber music, country and jazz concerts continue at Gordon Hall through September 8.
