The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce its upcoming sketch comedy show The Magic Negro and Other Blackity Blackness as told by an African-American man who also happens to be Black, by and starring Mark Kendall. The Magic Negro is a hilarious one-man show that looks at representations of the African-American experience in the media. It will run on the Hertz Stage from March 24 - April 15, 2017. Opening night is Wednesday, March 29.
The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce the three artistic projects chosen for development during its third annual Reiser Atlanta Artists Lab. Each project will receive $10,000 to use toward further exploration and development, as well as access to the Alliance's artistic, educational, and production staffs, and rehearsal spaces. The lab productions will be presented in free performances May 15-17, 2017.
Producing Artistic Director Carolyn Griffin is pleased to announce that MetroStage will open the 2015-16 season with the Rolling World Premiere of UPRISING by Atlanta playwright Gabrielle Fulton as part of the Women's Voices Theater Festival, Sept 17- Oct 25. Thomas W. Jones II will direct and choreograph, and William Knowles will music direct.
