Sundance Channel's New Original Series RECTIFY to Premiere 4/22

Sundance Channel's highly anticipated original series 'Rectify' will debut on April 22, 2013 at 9:00pm et/pt with two episodes. The six-episode hour-long series, created and written by Ray McKinnon (The Accountant, That Evening Sun, Mud) and executive produced by Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein (the team behind the critically-acclaimed AMC series, 'Breaking Bad'), marks the first wholly owned Sundance Channel scripted production. Theaters Nationwide to Host Sneak Peek of Sundance Channel's New Series RECTIFY, 4/16

To celebrate the launch of Sundance Channel's first wholly owned original scripted project, 'Rectify', the network has partnered with Art House Convergence and Sundance Cinemas to offer the public a sneak peek at more than a dozen theaters across the country. On the evening of Tuesday, April 16, the participating theaters will screen the first two episodes of the six-part series followed by a Skype Q & A with members of the cast. There will be no cost to attend the screening, however the Osborne Association will be accepting donations. 'Rectify' is set to premiere on Sundance Channel on Monday, April 22 at 9:00pm et/pt with a two hour debut. (more...)

Disney to Deliver LINCOLN to All U.S. Middle & High Schools

Jim Berk, Chief Executive Officer of Participant Media announced today that, in conjunction with their upcoming Social Action Campaign, "Stand Tall: Live Like Lincoln," kicking off on February 12, Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed film "Lincoln," a DreamWorks Pictures/Twentieth Century Fox film, in association with Participant Media, will be distributed to all middle and high schools, both public and private, throughout the United States when the film becomes available on DVD. The Old Globe's 100th anniversary production of the George Bernard Shaw classic Pygmalion stars Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard (The Invention of Love, Born Yesterday) as Professor Henry Higgins and Charlotte Parry (The Importance of Being Earnest, The Real Thing) as Eliza Doolittle. The production coincides with the 100th anniversary of Pygmalion's 1913 premiere in Vienna, Austria. Directed by Nicholas Martin (Butley, Present Laughter), Pygmalion will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, through Feb. 17, 2013. Included in the line-up will be the premiere of Gus Van Sant's Promised Land starring and written by, Matt Damon and John Krasinski. Sundance Channel's TOP OF THE LAKE to Premiere at 2013 Sundance FIlm Festival

Sundance Channel today announced that two of their highly anticipated original scripted series, "Top of the Lake" and "Rectify" will debut during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival taking place in Park City Utah in January. "Top of the Lake" will screen in the premiere category, marking the first time the Sundance Film Festival has included a scripted long form series in their lineup. The seven-part series will screen in its entirety on Sunday, January 20th at the Egyptian Theater in Park City and will be followed by a Q&A with the creators and cast. Campion will also participate in a discussion of the creative appeal of working in long-form episodic narrative as part of a Festival panel titled "Power of Story: The New Face of Independent Voice" on January 19.
