Last night (Monday, June 24), an all-star cast performed a live reading of The Investigation: A Search for the Truth in Ten Acts, Pulitzer Prize-Winner Robert Schenkkan's brand new stage adaptation of the Mueller Report.

This one-night only event, beginning at 9:00 p.m. EDT (6:00 p.m. PDT) will be performed in front of a live audience in New York and simultaneously live-streamed here.

The Old Globe has opened a window and let in a beautiful breath of fresh air in its latest world premiere musical, BENNY AND JOON, by bookwriter Kirsten Guenther, composer Nolan Gasser, and lyricist Mindi Dickstein. Based on the 1993 MGM film starring Johnny Depp, Mary Stuart Masterson and Aidan Quinn, it focuses on three characters, each insulated by their unique circumstances, and how they ultimately overcome their limitations to live the life they've always wanted.  In April of 2017 at Wild Project in the East Village, a revival of James McLure's Lone Star, by NINE Theatricals, took the stage in New York City for only the second time since it's Broadway debut in 1979. The production was met with tremendous feedback and glowing reviews from New York City critics and audiences who had not before seen this lesser known work. With a demand for more shows, producers moved Lone Star, in May, to The Triad Theatre for a limited Off Broadway contract run.

Due to demand, The New Group has announced an additional week for the company's world premiere production of Hamish Linklater's The Whirligig, with Noah Bean, Norbert Leo Butz, Jon DeVries, Alex Hurt, Zosia Mamet, Jonny Orsini, Grace Van Patten and Dolly Wells. 

Piven Theatre Workshop's celebrity alumni are coming home to Chicago for one big night to honor their favorite teacher-legendary founder, Joyce Piven. On Saturday, May 6, philanthropic leaders, community partners and friends of Piven Theatre Workshop from Hollywood, Broadway and around the world will pay tribute to Piven's remarkable 45 years in Chicago theatre at the inaugural Once Upon a Stage gala at Revel Fulton Market in Chicago's West Loop. Notable guests include Jeremy Piven, who will accompany his mother to the gala, Shira Piven, Adam McKay, Ed Asner, Paul Adelstein, Lili Taylor, Aidan Quinn and Chicago's own Billy Dec, Harry Lennix, James Vincent Meredith and Lucas Jade Zumann, among others.
