NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE has unveiled its updated season programme for 2018, under new Artistic Director Adam Penford. Fresh from the West End, the Playhouse has confirmed that Olivier award-winning actress Rebecca Trehearn will take on the role of Charity in the well-known Broadway musical Sweet Charity - where the cast will be treating audiences to hits such as If My Friends Could See Me Now, Hey Big Spender and The Rhythm of Life.

The acclaimed consortium Ramps on the Moon are back this Spring, with Nottingham Playhouse as this year's lead producing partner, to present their co-production of Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker.

Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company confirms full cast of Adam Penford's first show as Artistic Director, Wonderland including local actors Chris Ashby who previously played the lead in the National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and was cast through the Playhouse open auditions, and Joshua Glenister who was a member of Nottingham Playhouse Youth Theatre.

Full casting for the UK tour of Ira Levin's Tony-nominated classic thriller Deathtrap includes Sam Phillips(Clifford), Beverly Klein (Helga ten Dorp) and Julien Ball (Porter). They join the previously announced TV starsPaul Bradley (Holby City and EastEnders) as Sidney Bruhl and BAFTA nominee Jessie Wallace (EastEnders andFings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be) as Myra Bruhl.

Deathtrap will embark on a 10-week national tour opening at Sheffield's Lyceum Theatre on Wednesday 6 September, with press night at the Theatre Royal Brighton on Thursday 14 September.

The Donmar Warehouse announces today two new plays for the 2017 autumn period.  Internationally-acclaimed theatre artist, Yael Farber, makes her Donmar debut directing David Harrower's haunting Knives in Hens with full casting that includes Christian Cook, Judith Roddy and Matt Ryan.  This will be the play's first major London revival since its premiere in 1995, when it instantly established Harrower as one of the UK's leading playwrights.
