Diversionary Theatre Set for HARMONY, KANSAS, PIPPIN, THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF HEDDA GABBLER & More for 2012-13 Season

Diversionary Theatre announced the companys 2012-2013 productions and presentations at an event this past Saturday. The season will include the previously announced world-premiere of Harmony, Kansas, a new musical; an imaginative staging of Pippin; the first full-scale production of the new play, when last we flew; a comedy about family, Birds of a Feather; and, the hilarious farce, The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabbler. Playwrights Horizons' FAR FROM HEAVEN, TheatreWorks' WHEELHOUSE and More Awarded NAMT Grants

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces 15 awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its fourth year, the Fund will provide grants totaling $48,000 to 14 organizations across the country. ( more...)

Chai makes her Carnegie Hall debut at Zankel Hall on Thursday, April 19 at 7:30pm. Pittsburgh CLO and Carnegie Mellon Universitys School of Drama, in partnership with The ASCAP Foundation and Academy and Grammy Award -winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz, have announced that SCARY MUSICAL has been selected for further development as part of the Pittsburgh CLO/Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama New Works Program. Diane Paulus-Helmed PIPPIN Plays A.R.T. in December; Is Broadway Next?

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced that it will present the musical Pippin as part of its 2012 13 Season. The production will be directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main, also known as 7 Fingers.
