BWW Interview: Whitney Maris Brown in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE at The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ

'Shakespeare in Love' will be onstage at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey through November 12. Based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, the show is directed by the theatre's Artistic Director, Bonnie J. Monte with music by Paddy Cunneen. Amphibian Stage Productions opens its final staged reading of the 2014 season, A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney by Lucas Hnath, this Sunday, kicking off a two-performance run of the play. Greg Holt, Seth Johnston, Jenna Meador and Matthew Minor star in this infectious comedy running Sunday, December 7 and Monday, December 8 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Spectre Productions, LLC will present the new Pop Musical, ZOMBIE STRIPPERS, featuring Billboard chart-topping pop singer Sariah ('Deep N Luv'), July 21 at 3PM, July 25 at 9PM & July 26 at 1PM, at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd St. ZOMBIE STRIPPERS is directed by Diane Englert with book, Lyrics and music by Mark LaPierre.

BWW Jr: Autism Friendly Performances at NYMF

This month, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is teaming up wiht the Theatre Development Fund's Autism Theatre Initiative (ATI) to launch its first ever autism friendly series for kids. The shows will be performed in a supportive environment for an audience of families and friends with children or adults who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues. Slight adjustments to the production may be made, including reduction of any jarring sounds or light cues. The theatre lobby will have a quiet/activity area, staffed with autism specialists, for those who need to leave their seats during the performance. Social narratives and pictures of the theares and productions designed to personalize the experience for each attendee with ASD will be available for download in advance of the performances.
