Kristy Swanson

Kristy Swanson began her acting career at The Actors Workshop with R. J. Adams, followed by early television advertising work and guest appearances in series including Cagney & Lacey and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. In 1986, she appeared in two John Hughes films, Pretty in Pink (1986) in a non-speaking role and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986). That same year, she starred in Wes Craven’s Deadly Friend (1986), and in 1987 she played Cathy in Flowers in the Attic (1987).

During the late 1980s, Swanson appeared in television series including Knots Landing (1987–1988), Nightingales (1989), and B.L. Stryker (1989). In the 1990s, she worked primarily in film, starring in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), Hot Shots! (1991), The Program (1993), The Chase (1994), Higher Learning (1995), The Phantom (1996), and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag (1997).

She returned to television with a recurring role on Early Edition (1998–1999) and appeared in the film Big Daddy (1999). She starred in the television series Grapevine (2000) and appeared in the film Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000). In 2006, she competed in and won Skating with Celebrities (2006). She later appeared in 3Way (2008) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2008). In 2021, she appeared in the film Just Another Dream (2021).
