Jessica Capshaw Biography

Date Of Birth:
August 09, 1976 (35)
Birth Place:
Columbia, Missouri, USA
Gender:
Female

Although Jessica Capshaw happened to hear her true calling at the unripe age of five, the public would have to wait for some time to actually discover her talent. For Jessica, her career plans have always been quite clear; it has just been a question of when she would pursue her dream. So she decided to wait for the appropriate time and opportunity.

Upon graduating from high school, Jessica briefly wrestled with the decision of whether to attend prestigious Brown University or to begin establishing her career goals of becoming a full-time working actress. The answer became clear: She would first seek a valuable education, enrolling in the class of '98 and placing her acting career on hold.

Jessica took advantage of summer breaks from Brown to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where she starred as Puck in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. She made her feature film debut at the age of 19 in The Locusts, and the following summer starred in the independent film Denial.

In the spring of 1998 Jessica earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and also starred in the university's productions of Arcadia and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Armed with an Ivy League education and insatiable ambition, she went on to star opposite Anthony Clark in the independent film Killing Cinderella. She also made a guest appearance on ER, and starred in the ABC comedy series Odd Man Out.

She appeared in the romantic horror film Valentine. She can also be seen in the indie film The Mesmerist, and had a role in Minority Report. The corporate world also came calling, as she appeared in a GAP ad with her mother, Kate Capshaw. Jessica is perhaps best known for her role as attorney Jamie Stringer on the ABC legal drama The Practice

In May 2004 Jessica wed child therapist Christopher Gavigan

As of late, Jessica starred as 'Jeannie' in the Fat Pig on Broadway in early 2005. She will star as Rachel in the TNT movie Into the West, scheduled for release this summer. She has recently finished shooting the pilot "Thick and Thin" for NBC. And she is set to star in the Ed Burns film "The Groomsmen".
