Ted Cubbin's new comedy The Rufus Equation, which had its world premiere at the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival, has been extended into the Fringe Encore Series, with five performances added for Sunday, September 8 at 3:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m., Tuesday September 10 at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday. September 15 at 3:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. at The Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street, NYC). Tickets for these added performances are available through www.TheRufusEquation.com.

The 2013 New York International Fringe Festival has its first break-out hit with Ted Cubbin's new comedy The Rufus Equation, a world premiere production directed by Tom Ridgely, the Drama Desk-nominated director and co-founder of Waterwell. Geoffrey Arend will lead the cast as Professor Bert Rufus. Arend's film and television credits include Garden State, Supertroopers, (500) Days of Summer, Save the Date, Beach Pillows, Devil, The Ringer, 'The Closer' (TNT), 'Law & Order' (NBC), 'Trust Me' (TNT) and 'Body of Proof' (ABC). Onstage he was seen in The American Pilot (MTC) and Mother Courage and Her Children (Public).

The Theresa Rebeck fable about the woman in black who turns lives upside down is on stage again, with some tweaks from the playwright.

Dorset Theatre Festival will start off their 2013 Season with the biting hit comedy The Scene by Theresa Rebeck. Theresa Rebeck, a DTF Writer in Residence, is well known for her recent Broadway hits - Seminar starring Alan Rickman and Dead Accounts starring Katie Holmes - as well has her popular NBC Series Smash.

A host of Broadway talent as well as several film and television stars will be appearing on the Dorset Theatre Festival stage this summer. Tim Daly, well known for his work on Wings (NBC) and Private Practice (ABC) will headline in the first production of the season, Theresa Rebeck's The Scene. Joining him will be Geoffrey Arend (ABC's Body of Proof) and well-known NY stage actress Mary Bacon (most recently seen in the Michael John LaChiusa/Sybille Pearson musical Giant as well as on Bway in Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll). They will be joined by newcomer Carolyn Holding (The Philadelphia Story/Chautauqua). Adrienne Campbell-Holt will direct the production.
