Delray Writer Wins 'Play Of The Year'

Delray Beach writer Al Pessin has won the Dahris Clair Memorial Award for Best Play of the Year at the Florida Writers Association's Royal Palm Literary Awards (RPLA). Pessin's winning farce Murder at the Butcher's will have its world premiere run at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton November 22-24, produced by The Playgroup, LLC.

Written by WA playwright Noel O'Neill and directed by Valerie Dragojevic, hilarity turns to disaster in a comedy of errors set in 1960s London when a man makes a promise he cannot keep. Working together with the team at Silver Comedy, a specialist comedy training company working with older people, the festival is continuing its Silver Stand Up Competition as part of Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival 2013.
