Tony Ponturo is a seasoned Broadway producer with over 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has produced some of the most successful Broadway shows of all time, including "Memphis," "The Addams Family," and "August: Osage County."
Ponturo began his career in the advertising industry, working for Anheuser-Busch for over 26 years. During his time there, he was responsible for some of the most memorable advertising campaigns in history, including the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales Super Bowl ad.
In 2008, Ponturo made the transition from advertising to Broadway producing. His first show, "Memphis," won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. He went on to produce several other hit shows, including "The Addams Family," which ran for over a year on Broadway, and "August: Osage County," which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2008.
Ponturo has also produced several successful shows off-Broadway, including "The Toxic Avenger," which won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best New Off-Broadway Musical in 2009.
In addition to his work in the theater, Ponturo has also been involved in the film industry. He served as the executive producer of the 2012 film "Trouble with the Curve," starring Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams.
Ponturo is also a member of the board of directors for the Broadway League, the national trade association for the Broadway industry. He is a strong advocate for the arts and has worked tirelessly to promote Broadway and the theater industry as a whole.
