Thomas Morrissey is the Artistic Director of Theatre Now New York, having previously worked with the Genesius Theatre Guild in New York City and ReVision Theatre in Asbury Park, NJ. For ReVision Tom Directed the highly acclaimed productions of Hello, Dolly! staring Richard Skipper as Carol Channing and the sold out run of The Rocky Horror Show. The ReVision Theatre, a continuation of The Genesius Theatre Guild, which Tom founded in NYC in 1995 and served as its Artistic Director for 10 years providing a place for diverse theatre artists to collaborate on the creation and development of new plays and musicals. Tom produced and directed The Genesius Guild’s first mainstage productions The Glass Mendacity by Maureen Morley and Tom Wilmorth, Frank Stancati’s Just Us Boys, Dalliance In Vienna by Douglas Braverman and produced the premiere production of Jonathan Tolin’s The Last Sunday In June which became the highlight of Rattlestick Productions 2003 off Broadway season & went on to its commercial New York run at the Century Center Theatre. He was the Producing Artistic Director for the Texas Star Theatre at the Historic Granbury Opera House for their 2005 season production of Gypsy which he directed and choreographed to rave reviews starring Cindy Benson along with I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. In New York Tom has also worked as a director at Circle Repertory Company (Circle REP LAB member), Ensemble Studio Theatre, Naked Angels and is a founding member of the Professional Directors Company at New York University. Regional director/choreographer credits include: Oklahoma, No No Nanette, Camelot, The King & I, Two By Two, The Pirates Of Penzance, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Get Your Gun and Hello Dolly!. He has worked in all areas of professional theatre; regional, summer, dinner theatre, off and on Broadway. Tom sat on the Theatre Panel for the Manhattan Community Arts Fund re-grant program of the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs through the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Tom has taught acting, musical theatre classes and workshops at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Wagner College, New York University, The Creative Acting Company, NYC.
