Tara is a New York City native, born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens. She attended LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts as a vocal major, and received her BFA in Musical Theater from Pace University. New York credits include Mimi in Rent at The Gallery Players, Karen O?s Stop the Virgens at St. Ann?s Warehouse, Cocaine: The Band - The Musical with Lena Hall at NYMF, Triassic Parq at FringeNYC, Isabelle in Isabelle and the Pretty-Ugly Spell at Vital Theatre Company, and a concert of DEX! A Killer Musical, a parody of Showtime?s Dexter, at 54 Below. Tara won the ?Best Actress Award? for her role as Veronica in That?s Just Super at the West Village Musical Theater Festival. Regional credits include Sheila in Hair at Playhouse on Park, Susan in tick, tick?BOOM! and Beehive: The 60?s Musical at The Eagle Theatre, Rent at John W. Engeman Theater, Factory Girl in Les Miserables at Weston Playhouse, Athena in The Odyssey Experience with Experiential Theater Company, and various roles at Weathervane Theatre. She received her MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College, where she played Yelena in Annie Baker?s translation of Uncle Vanya, Candace in the world premiere of Kate Kremer?s Porch Play, and Jenny/Sofia in Nora S rena Casey?s Take the Car. Over the years, she has also worked on a handful of short films. Tara has an extensive music background, with various choral, a cappella, studio, and band singing experience. She is a proud member of Actors? Equity.

RUTH SENT US, Featuring Mauricio Martínez, Ilana Levine, Celia Mei Rubin, and More, Extends Streaming


Ruth Sent Us: A Benefit For Reproductive Justice, which premiered live and virtually at The Green Room 42 October 11, has extended streaming through October 24 at 7 PM. The event has so far raised over $2,600 for the Jewish Fund for Abortion Access. Ilana Levine To Host RUTH SENT US: A BENEFIT FOR REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE


The Green Room 42 presents Ruth Sent Us: A Benefit For Reproductive Justice on October 11th at 7:00 PM. Ilana Levine, known for her acclaimed podcast Little Known Facts, will host. Levine joins the previously announced Emmy winner Mauricio Martinez, Grammy nominees Austin Ku and Kendyl Ito, Jeff Award winner Andrea Prestinario, Emmy nominee David Dabbon, and Marina Pires and Luke Wygodny of The Heartstrings Project (Grammy consideration).

The Green Room 42 will present Ruth Sent Us: A Benefit For Reproductive Justice on October 11th at 7:00 PM. Dedicated to the late great Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, this one-night-only concert will celebrate RBG's legacy through songs and discussion from the Broadway community. Heather Booth, civil rights activist and founder of JANE consults. Directed and Produced by Mara Jill Herman with Music Direction by Andrea Grody, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jewish Fund For Abortion Access.

Musical Theatre Factory Announces NEW WAVE GATHERING: A Celebrating Women, Trans And Gender Non Conforming Artists


To celebrate the work of MTF's Women, Trans and GNC Roundtable on Monday June 3rd, Musical Theatre Factory will present a one night only evening of new musical theatre works by and for women, trans and gender non conforming people. These invigorating, witty, compelling, complex and poignant songs explore a range of stories told by underrepresented voices- songs about life, love, coming-of-age, finding your power, and just plain ol' humanity! Curated by Molly Marinik, Maybe Burke and Janelle Lawrence A New Wave Gathering will take place at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St) on Monday, June 3 at 9.30pm. Tickets are $25 and are available at mtf.nyc/events.

On Monday, June 18, 2018, the theater world and New York communities will come together for Broadway Sings for Pride's 8th annual charity concert entitled "Revolution"!  Hair co-creator James Rado (Grammy-Award Winner) and Hair original choreographer Julie Arenal (Broadway/West End) will join over 35 tribe members to celebrate Pride with a special Hair reunion musical performance during the event.

STAGE TUBE: RENT Alumni Reunite for BROADWAY SINGS FOR PRIDE


On Monday, June 22, 2015, over 25 company members (Broadway, National, International, Asian World Tour, Regional) of the multiple Tony-award winning musical RENT helped celebrate LGBT pride with a special tribute to Jonathan Larson's contributions to the theater and LGBT communities. On hand were special guest speakers and original RENT creative team members Marlies Yearby (Tony nominee, original RENT choreographer) and Billy Aronson (original RENT collaborator). With book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, their work presents itself as a rock musical alive with timeless vitality. Original music by Galt McDermot include titillating numbers such as Aquarius, I Believe In Love, and Good Morning Starshine, which promise to evoke memories for all who lived through the exciting time that was post mid-century America.
