BIO
Megan Hilty made her Broadway debut in 2004 as the standby for Glinda in Wicked before taking over the role full-time in 2005. She reprised the role on the first national tour (2006) and originated the role in the Los Angeles production, where she performed from 2007 to 2009. During this period, she also starred in the premiere of Vanities and made guest appearances on television series including The Closer, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Ugly Betty, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Desperate Housewives, and Shark. She also provided the singing voice of Snow White in Shrek the Third (2007).
Hilty originated the role of Doralee Rhodes in the musical 9 to 5, which premiered in Los Angeles in 2008 before opening on Broadway in 2009. She continued to expand her television career with appearances on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Desperate Housewives in 2009, and voiced the China Princess in Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return (2010). She gained wider television recognition starring as Ivy Lynn in NBC's musical drama Smash, which aired from 2012 to 2013. In 2012, she also starred as Lorelei Lee in the Encores! production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and released her debut solo album, It Happens All the Time, in 2013. She went on to co-star in the NBC sitcom Sean Saves the World (2013–14).
In 2015, Hilty returned to Broadway in Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Noises Off. She also had a recurring role on Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce and appeared with Matthew Morrison in a concert with The New York Pops in 2016. In 2021, she portrayed Lily St. Regis in NBC's Annie Live!.
In 2024, Hilty starred as Madeline Ashton opposite Jennifer Simard in the world premiere stage adaptation of Death Becomes Her, which premiered in Chicago before transferring to Broadway later that year. She remained with the production through January 2026.
