The Musical,” selections from the upcoming production of Dorothy Dandridge! The Musical, with book and lyrics by Trey Ellis and music and lyrics by Shelton L. Becton, directed by Tamara Tunie at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Shed Arts Center Receives $75 Million Donation from Michael Bloomberg
According to the New York Times, the new arts center known as the Shed that is being built in Hudson Yards has received $75 million from Michael Bloomberg. He had previously made a $15 million contribution in 2012, which until now was undisclosed, and he added $60 million to that on Wednesday.

Third Eye Theatre Ensemble Presents First Ever Opera at Chicago Fringe Festival
Third Eye Theatre Ensemble will present The Filthy Habit, the first opera ever performed at the Chicago Fringe Festival, opening Saturday, September 3rd at 7 pm with additional performances on Monday, September 5th at 2:30 pm and Friday, September 9th at 8:30 pm. All performance will take place at the CCJP Meeting Hall at 5320 W. Giddings, in Jefferson Park. Tickets are $10.
