Interview: Yu Shirota Captures the Magic of Snoopy and Orchestra
Yu Shirota : Since his debut as an actor in 2003, Yu has been active across various fields, including television, film, stage, and music. Some of his notable works include the historical drama “Dousuru Ieyasu (どうする家康)” and the NHK drama “Come Come Everybody,” in which he served as the narrator. He has won numerous awards, such as the Kazuo Kikuta Award. On December 8, Yu will star in and direct “billboard classics × SNOOPY『Magical Christmas Night 2024』.”

tick, tick…BOOM!: Premiering Off-Broadway in 2001, this production has been performed worldwide in countries such as Japan, the United Kingdom, and Canada. In 2021, it was adapted into a film, earning two Academy Award nominations. The legendary musical composer Jonathan Larson, who created the masterpiece “RENT” but passed away unexpectedly just before its opening night, based this work on his own life. This musical captures Larson’s unyielding passion for his dreams despite outside skepticism, his anxieties about the future, and his inner struggles, all woven together with remarkable music.

Interview: WICKED Returns to Japan: Masae Ebata Takes on Elphaba Once Again
Masae Ebata: Playing Elphaba in the Osaka run of Shiki Theatre Company’s musical 'Wicked' (Click here to read Review: 'Wicked' - THE MAGIC RETURNS TO OSAKA by SHIKI THEATRE COMPANY-). Masae joined Shiki Theatre Company in 2005 after passing the audition. She made her stage debut in 'The Lion King,' later performing as Nala in both the Japan and Korea productions. Her major roles include Elphaba in 'Wicked', Donna Sheridan in 'Mamma Mia!,' Aida in 'Aida,' and Grizabella in 'CATS.' 'Wicked' reimagines the classic 'The Wizard of Oz' from the perspectives of two witches, Elphaba and Glinda. The musical is a grand spectacle, featuring Grammy-winning music and magnificent stage designs, continuing to captivate fans of all ages.
