Steppenwolf Theatre Mourns Longtime Ensemble Member Frank Galati
Steppenwolf Theatre Company today mourns the loss of longtime ensemble member, actor, director and adaptor Frank Galati, who died Monday evening in Florida at the age of 79. Galati, who joined the Steppenwolf ensemble in 1985, won two Tony Awards in 1990 for his adaptation and direction of Steppenwolf's pivotal production of The Grapes of Wrath on Broadway.
The House Theatre Of Chicago Announces Annual Gala - THE SPECTACULAR
The House Theatre of Chicago's Board of Directors announce the 2nd annual incarnation of THE SPECTACULAR. Hosted by NPR's Peter Sagal (Wait, Waita?? Don't Tell Me!), the fundraiser celebrates the company's continuing commitment to amazing feats of storytelling with dinner, dancing, a silent auction, live music from This Must Be The Band, and a one-of-a-kind floor show. This year the organization will honor David Schmitz (Executive Director of Steppenwolf Theatre Company) with a roast in recognition of his many years of service on the Board of Directors of The House and his contributions to Chicago's theatre community. THE SPECTACULAR will be held Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at the unique venue Ignite Glass Studios, 401 N Armour St. The event is co-chaired by board members Renee Duba (Sonder Wealth) and Roark Frankel (Obama Foundation), and the event committee includes Laura Jimenez (Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill), Kathryn Lipuma (Writers Theatre), Elizabeth Auman (TimeLine Theatre Company), and Jacqueline Russell (Chicago Children's Theatre). Al Heartley Joins the Wirtz Center as Its New Managing Director
Al Heartley has been named managing director of the Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts by the School of Communication at Northwestern University. Heartley comes to Northwestern from the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Conn., where he served as director of development.
Steppenwolf Welcomes New Ensemble Members
Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro announced today the addition of Rajiv Joseph and Karen Rodriguez to the world-renowned Steppenwolf ensemble. An Obie Award-wining and Pulitzer Prize finalist playwright, Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj was produced at Steppenwolf this past May to great acclaim. Karen Rodriguez, a celebrated Chicago-based actor, recently performed at Steppenwolf in The Doppelganger (an international farce) and The Rembrandt, and will be featured in this season's world premiere of Isaac Gomez's La Ruta, in a role written specifically for her.

Steppenwolf Announces New Ensemble Members
Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro announced today the addition of Celeste M. Cooper and Cliff Chamberlain to the world-renowned Steppenwolf ensemble. Cooper, an in-demand Chicago-based actor, recently performed in Steppenwolf's production of BLKS and Chamberlain, a regular on the Steppenwolf stage, was recently featured in The Minutes by ensemble member Tracy Letts.

Steppenwolf's LookOut Series is pleased to present, as part of the Winter 2017-18 lineup, The Accidental Curator, written and performed by ensemble member Molly Regan and directed by Mary B. Robinson. Regan, who was encouraged by former Artistic Director Martha Lavey to write this show, was most recently seen on the Steppenwolf stage in The Herd, Tribes, and Good People.
