Lex Ishimoto BIO

Lex Sparkie Ishimoto, born and raised in Irvine, California since March 10th, 1998. Training vigorously in dance for 11 years in Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Contemporary, he started his young years as a dancer at West Coast School Of The Arts. He began working professionally at an early age, being on the 1st and 2nd national tour as Billy on Billy Elliot the Musical. His contemporary solos by mentor Zak Ryan Shlegel (company member of the renowned "ShenWei Dance Company) , lead to an “Outstanding Choreography Award” for two years in a row at the Youth American Grand Prix, as well as placing Lex as the grand finalist and winner at the Spotlight Awards in 2015. At YAGP he advanced both times to the finals in NYC. During 2013 &2014. He earned the title, “Teen Male Best Dancer of the Year” at the Dance Awards, as well as being titled ‘Elite Protégé’ on The Pulse On Tour 2014. Both dance conventions touring from the all over the United States and internationally, he was assisting the top choreographers in the industry on the weekends. In 2015, he won the “Youth American Grand Prix Award” at YAGP Los Angeles Regionals. Also placing as a finalist at the National YoungArts Foundation in 2016. He trained at the Boston Ballet in the Trainee program in 2015 and was promoted to the 2nd Company the following year. In 2016 He won the Dance Awards title again but this time as "Senior Male Best Dancer of the Year” and touring as a demonstrator/choreographer for BreakTheFloor conventions. Currently dancing for Emmy Award winner Travis Wall's Shaping Sound Co, Lex will be touring in the Spring and Summer show "After The Curtain" Lex has been flown internationally such as Canada and Japan to teach and perform for multiple showcases and Galas.
