It’s easy to see why Harold Pinter’s NO MAN’S LAND has been categorized as Theater of the Absurd: The play focuses on four male characters in a nebulous space, debating nothing and everything all at the same time. Les Waters directs a game ensemble of actors who wholeheartedly embrace the true absurdity and existentialism of the text. The production design mirrors the liminal state of the play: Andrew Boyce’s set is a staid, elegant, and sparsely populated living room (chiefly featuring two armchairs and two decidedly less comfortable chairs on each side of the stage). All of the action takes place inside a literal room, with walls flanked by an open blue-gray space. Janice Pytel’s costume designs are likewise timeless: Well-tailored suits that seem oddly formal for just sitting around, talking about nothing. But they fit the production nicely. Mikhail Fiksel’s sound design lends an extra sense of eeriness to the production as well.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the Broadway productions of Is This a Room and Dana H., which were previously set to conclude performances next week at the Lyceum Theatre, will extend for an additional two weeks. Both plays will play their final performances on November 28, 2021.

The Broadway productions of Is This A Room and Dana H. will conclude their limited engagement on Sunday, November 14 at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre (149 W 45th Street, New York, NY). Dana H. will play its final performance at 2pm on Saturday November 13, 2021. Is This A Room will play its final performance at 3pm on Sunday November 14, 2021.

The Broadway productions of Is This A Room and Dana H. announced today their general rush policy. Is This A Room begins previews tonight, September 24, 2021, at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre where it will play on a rotating schedule with Dana H., by Obie Award winner Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters. Full casting and creative teams were announced today for the Broadway productions of Is This A Room, conceived and directed by Obie Award winner Tina Satter; and Dana H., by Obie Award winner Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters, playing Broadway's Lyceum Theatre on a rotating schedule this fall.

Vineyard Theatre has announced that starting tomorrow, Friday, March 13  all performances of Dana H. will be suspended through March 31. The theatre will play to 50% capacity April 1 - 12. This is in accordance with guidelines from the CDC and state and local health officials' executive orders.
