James has been performing in local theatre since the age of 8. He has been in more than 40 productions in the Baltimore area including shows at Pumpkin Theatre, The Sky is the Limit, Notre Dame Prep, Infinity Theatrical, The Mornington Players, Carver Theatre Company, The Children's Playhouse of Maryland and Cockpit in Court.
He has received training in acting, movement, voice, piano, musical theatre, acting styles & performance, stage dancing, tap dancing, script analysis and theatre design & production.
He also has 3 years experience performing with a show choir which has traveled the mid-Atlantic region performing a various events.
The October world premiere of White Snake Projects' Alice in the Pandemic – a virtual opera by creator and librettist Cerise Jacobs and composer Jorge Sosa – met with well-deserved praise from every corner, for its innovation and the possibilities it revealed for the future of digital opera production.

San Francisco Opera today announced a cast change for Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg, opening November 18. British baritone James Rutherford will sing the central role of Hans Sachs, replacing Greer Grimsley who has withdrawn from the production. The David McVicar production, a co-presentation of San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Glyndebourne Festival Opera, is conducted by Sir Mark Elder and runs for six performances November 18-December 6, 2015 at the War Memorial Opera House.

The orchestra's series this season begins on Tuesday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m. with the New York premiere of Sebastian Currier's Divisions. Troubled souls grapple with diphtheria, infant mortality, and cocaine addiction, among other obstacles, in Lizzie Vieh's new drama, Wisconsin Death Trip, based on the book by Michael Lesy. The play will have its debut reading at Manhattan Theatre Club's Creative Center on Sunday, September 7th.
