Seventeen years ago, Susan Priver starred as Flora opposite Henry Olek as Edward with Shelly Kurtz as the match seller in Harold Pinter’s A Slight Ache, a tragicomedy of manners that takes a funny, ominous, and unsettling journey into the human psyche. All three actors will reprise their roles in a visiting production of Pinter’s play, directed by Jack Heller at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A. from August 26 through October 1. I decided to speak with Susan about her experience with both productions of Pinter’s play.

In our conversation she really digs deep to help us understand and feel the songwriting process.

And from the moment I walked in and sat down, it was easy to hear all the audience accolades rightly being thrown Daavid's way.

BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99 stars Vince Vaughn (Hacksaw Ridge, “True Detective”), Jennifer Carpenter (“Dexter”), Marc Blucas (“Underground”), Udo Kier (Blade), and Don Johnson (Django Unchained). Actress Jenny Pellicer will join Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta Jones in Lifetime's COCAINE GODMOTHER. Cocaine Godmother examines the complicated life of Griselda Blanco (Zeta-Jones) and Pellicer is set to play Carolina Maria Telles, who meets Blanco at a New York City club and becomes her sons' babysitter and Blanco's devoted lover. The TV Movie is set to premiere in 2018.

In Jack & Jill, playwright Jane Martin introduces us to a fictitious contemporary couple, both from previous failed marriages, who meet, have a reluctant affair, replete with doubts and insecurities, and eventually tackle marriage. At the very top they are skeptical about love and commitment - at least she is - so like a modern day George Bernard Shaw, Martin predicts unhappiness, a great deal of it. What makes this two-character comedy work especially well is the finite chemistry between its two stars Tanna Frederick and Robert Standley, two dynamite actors who are a joy to watch, under the expert direction of Jack Heller at the Santa Monica Playhouse through March 27.

Let me start off by saying that the performance of The Rainmaker on Saturday June 15 was almost cancelled due to the illness of the two actors playing File and the Sheriff. Ron Vignone and Daniel Robinson respectively stepped in with only a couple of hours rehearsal so that the show could go on. With script in hand, both covered their roles quite effectively based on the little amount of time they had for preparation. Bravo!
