BIO

Heidi Gray is a 12-year old from South Carolina who made her Broadway tour debut at age 11. She began singing and dancing at the age of 4 and found a great passion for acting at an early age. After playing many lead roles in The Augusta Players productions, Heidi had her sights on the Big Apple. Exemplifying her motto of never giving up, through many auditions, she landed her dream role of “Annie” in the broadway tour directed by Martin Charnin. One of her favorite star struck moments as Annie was getting to work with Bill Berloni and his Broadway veterans, Macy and Sunny. She enjoyed sharing the stage with these canine stars in 38 states in the US. Heidi’s dream role then took her to Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore this past summer where she was the first American to perform as Annie within the continent of Asia. Heidi is a enthusiastic and optimistic person who loves performing and exudes passion for the arts. She is very grateful for everyones support from the hometown friends to the new ones she has developed along this journey.

BWW Review: ANNIE Brings Her Smile To The National Theatre

That perennially adorable optimist Annie, and her fellow orphans have landed at Washington's National Theatre, and they're bringing the cute. Seriously folks, the show has real dogs, talented kids, a heartwarming story, and songs you know well (whether you like them or not might be another issue, of course). There's an impressive Beowulf Boritt set that makes good use of the height of the National's stage, and frequent set changes, refreshing for a touring production (which are often more spare for logistical reasons). And it's always a treat to have a live orchestra, a true overture and Act II musical introduction, and a troupe of excellent voices.

BWW Review: ANNIE at Providence Performing Arts Center

Proudly boasted as 'The World's Best-Loved Musical', Annie is a show most of us can say we've seen brought to life at least once. For this reviewer, the 1982 film adaptation of Annie was an early eye-opening introduction to the world of musical theater and the likes of legends such as Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, and Bernadette Peters. While countless productions have made their way to stages and screens around the world over the years, Annie still has a tight grip on our hearts.
