BIO

Gregory Mosher is a renowned American theater director and producer, with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. Born on December 22, 1948, in New York City, Mosher grew up in a family of artists and intellectuals. His father was a professor of English literature, and his mother was a painter. Mosher attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied English literature and theater. He later received an MFA in directing from Yale School of Drama.

Mosher began his career as a director in the 1970s, working at several regional theaters across the United States. He made his Broadway debut in 1980 with the play "American Buffalo" by David Mamet, which earned him critical acclaim and a Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of a Play. Mosher went on to direct several other plays by Mamet, including "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "Speed-the-Plow."
In addition to his work on stage, Mosher has also directed several films and television shows. His film credits include "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" and "The West Wing." He has also directed episodes of popular TV shows such as "Law & Order" and "Nash Bridges."
Mosher has been a professor of theater at several universities, including Yale School of Drama, Columbia University, and the University of Chicago. He has also served as the artistic director of several prestigious theater companies, including the Lincoln Center Theater and the Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
Mosher's most recent work includes directing the Broadway production of "The Iceman Cometh" by Eugene O'Neill, starring Denzel Washington. The play opened in April 2018 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Mosher's direction was praised for its raw intensity and emotional depth, as well as its ability to capture the bleakness and despair of O'Neill's masterpiece.
