Ogunquit Playhouse is growing its educational initiatives by launching the Arts Academy. Already an integral component of the Playhouse's mission, the educational initiatives currently in place will be greatly expanded to build upon the legacy left by founder Walter Hartwig, a strong proponent of community theater with a passion for teaching theater craft to aspiring professionals.

Ogunquit Playhouse is launching the Arts Academy program with the belief that theater is a profound tool for students to not only exercise their imagination but to discover their innate skill set.

Beat by Beat Press, a theatrical publishing and licensing company, recently announced that its virtual musical The Show Must Go Online! was the most licensed musical of 2020 with over 1,000 separate productions in 40 countries.

New Albany Youth Theatre, a non-profit theatre company focused on providing substantive theatre education initiatives for youth artists ages 8-17, has announced the licensing and open registration period for youth artists to participate in two virtual musicals -The Show Must Go Online! and The Big One-OH! Online Edition

The Abbey Theater of Dublin (located within the Dublin Community Recreation Center) will present the Central Ohio virtual premiere production of The Show Must Go Online! on May 22, 2020 at 7PM EST.  It's a season of magic for students of the arts as Rubicon Theatre Company's summer educational programs swing into action. With four camps, the Jack Oakie Summer Youth Program offers professional level training for budding performing artists as well as emerging young designers and stagecraft enthusiasts: The Stinky Feet camp for five to twelve year-olds, the Fearless Shakespeare Camp for students aged fifteen to twenty-five, the Theatre Camp for kids from eleven to fourteen years old and finally the Musical Theatre Intensive which accepts young actorsingers who are between fifteen and twenty-five years-old. Each camp culminates in a fully staged production. This year's offerings include Giants In The Sky (music and lyrics by Denver Casado, book and lyrics by Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm), The Tempest (by William Shakespeare), Once On This Island Jr. (book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty) and Into The Woods (music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by James Lapine).
