Review: THE ELEPHANT MAN at TampaRep
Bernard Pomerance’s The Elephant Man, premiered at the Hampstead Theatre in London in November of 1977. Pomerance’s play also transferred to the National Theatre in London for an “In Rep” residency. From January to March of 1979 it played off-Broadway, and made a transfer to the Booth Theatre on Broadway later in 1979, but the production closed in 1981 after 916 regular performances. The Elephant Man received revivals in 2002 and 2014.

Actress and Singer India Adams Dies at 93

Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center and Andrea Meyerson Productions (AMP) have announced a special, one-night-only screening of More Beautiful for Having Been Broken, the new feature drama from award-winning filmmaker Nicole Conn. Cast and crew members will be on hand for a post-screening Q&A. The event has been set for Saturday, November 9, at 7pm at the LGBT Center's Renberg Theatre. VIP pre-reception begins at 6pm.
Kid Cudi, Big Boi Join Shudder's CREEPSHOW
Shudder, AMC Networks' premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, today announced additional casting for its upcoming Creepshow anthology series, executive produced by Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead). Joining the cast are Grammy winners Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi) and Big Boi (Antwan Patton), along with Jeffrey Combs (Star Trek, Re-Animator), Bruce Davison (Longtime Companion, X-Men) and DJ Qualls (The Man in the High Castle, Supernatural). Shudder also revealed an additional Creepshow story, 'The Finger,' written by award-winning horror novelist David J. Schow (The Crow) and directed by series showrunner Greg Nicotero.
WAITRESS Comes to Community Center Theater This Month
Joe's Pie Diner will open up with Richard Kline in the role of 'Joe' when the tour is in Spokane, WA just prior to its Sacramento engagement. Waitress is the hit Broadway musical from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture. The Broadway On Tour presentation of Waitress runs at Sacramento Community Center Theater from Dec. 27, 2018 through Jan. 5, 2019.
